Sunday in Pictures

Future Leader Dog Breezy is 10 weeks old.
(Her eyes came out blue in the pic and I
couldn't fix them....now they match :-)

My husband had a successful turkey hunt.
Stay tuned for a turkey jerkey recipe down the road.

Granddaughter Zoe loves melon.
I'm planting an heirloom variety this year --
my first time trying it.

I now see dandelions as bee food.
The bees seem to have survived this cold weather
just fine.  This week is suppose to be nice and warm
and there are lots of dandelions out -- a plus for the bees.

We miss this old bridge over the Wolf River.
It was recently torn down in our home town.
A brand new one (that looks nothing like it) replaced it.

What a beautiful Sunday! I also look at dandelions as bee food - and goldenrod in the fall too!

Zoe is such a doll and don't they know they can't replace bridges that were like a heirloom( but if they have to,they have to,my BIL just put up a bridge himself at his lake home up-north ,it resembles the one in "Beettlejuice" if you can remember that old fashioned covered cute bridge where the main characters went off the bridge

Mama Tea....My husband says thank-you :-) He actually has 3 tags this spring. He already filled two of them and will hunt this week-end for the third. Like I said, turkey jerky on the way. ....and just so you know, those are not all MY dandelions, LOL! (but my bees don't know that :-)

Lois....thank-you, she sure makes for some fun pictures :-)

Tex....that dandelion pic was shot with a cheap point and shoot. It is still one of my favorites.

Jill....thanks Jill!

Clint....sorry you didn't get out turkey hunting. I know my husband uses it as an excuse for some good down time.

Sharon....ah yes, we will have plenty of goldenrod around for the bees this fall too :-)

SweetMarie....Breezy is a black lab, but I think she looks good as a blue lab too :-)

judy....it was sad to see the bridge go. The new one is so modern looking. I have to admit I don't know the "Beetlejuice" bridge. I think I was knee deep in laundry and diapers at that time --there's a blank in my memory :-)

Michaele....yup...just change the whole picture to blue next time LOL!

Great pictures! The one with the gates and the dandelions looks like something that should be on a greeting card!

Great pictures, but I like turkey on the hoof!

Candy C....it's one of my favorite pictures. I call it "Dandelion Heaven" :-)

Chatty Crone....fom what I've learned, the dandelion pollen is the biggest boost for the bees in the spring. It gets them over a "hump".

Mary Ann....I don't suppose you will be interested in the turkey jerky recipe then LOL!
