If you have a dehydrator you MUST make jerky :-)
It's way too easy and tastes so good.  Pick up a jerky gun...about $15.00,
and then it's "have protein, will travel".
Beats a soy protein bar any day.









Four trays of jerky drying as I speak.

It looks like you used ground meat? Does that make it NOT so chewy? One of the reasons I don't eat jerky is because it takes FOREVER to chew it up! LOL!!

Mama Pea...you have to do it! The recipe I used and the "how to" will be my post on Monday.

Candy C. ....yes it is ground beef -- really lean, and ground duck. :-) Over-drying the jerky can make it hard to chew and whole-muscle jerky is much harder to chew. You would like this.

Oh yum, jerky. We've never used the jerky gun, though. That looks slick! We actually had to STOP making jerky here because the MEN in the house ate it so fast it was not the most productive way to use the deer or whatever we were making jerky out of. But goodness, do we love jerky around here!
