Sunday

Sunday in Pictures

Supper was homegrown ham, organic homegrown
Yukon gold potatoes,  and the last fresh picking of green beans. YUM.

After supper and before making caramel apples, we got the kids busy with coloring.
Check out Gracie's line-up of stuffed animals watching her color.

"Color wars"
Side note......Packers are 6-0.....you knew that right?

Making caramel apples for dessert was a hit.

Gracie made hers quick and dug right in.

I agree - those apples look so good! My daughter "coined" the phrase "crapple" (crap) for apples with all the "crap" on them....like M&M's, cookie crumbs, etc. - we are such rednecks I swear!

Hey, how is the ham?!? Was it all worth it?!?
Love the pictures of the kids! I'm craving a caramel apple right about now! :)

Your dinner looks delicious. Sadly, no more caramel apples for me -- too much dental work in my mouth! :)

What is that they are dipped in Heath or Butterfinger maybe? Good gosh they look good!

Tex....I didn't try one LOL, I assume they were good :-)

Dicky Bird...crapples.... I like that :-)

Candy C.... the ham was wonderful. and not one of my kids "mentioned" a name of a pig...good thing with all the grandkids eating!!

laughwithusblog....the kids sure had fun doing it...right down to putting on mini choc. chips one by one :-)

Nancy...I know what you mean! I didn't have one for those reasons too.

Michaele....I think those were Heath chips from the baking isle. I bought the caramels my kids bought all the goodies to dip in. Mini choc. chips and sprinkles were the big hits with the grandkids.

Any caramel for the apples left? I'll take mine with just chopped pecans, please.

Your ham meal looks wonderful. I'll bet it was dee-licious. All the more so knowing exactly where all the food came from.

Mama Pea.....funny you should ask. Let's see, we had the caramel apples on Sunday, today is Wednesday and the left over caramel is still hardened in the pan sitting on the stove! :-) Does that make me a bad Grandma??? No one has had the gumption to heat it back up to get it out yet. ....anyway, ya, there's at least 3 more apple coatings in there! :-)
(the ham WAS dee-licious!)

It's hard to find a better feeling than sitting down to a dinner of foods you grew or raised yourself!
