Sunday in Pictures

My apron is coming along......I don't own straight pins.  Safety pins worked :-)
I did have to buy a tracing wheel and paper though.  (Like I said....I don't sew :-)

Future Leader Dog Butsch dubbed as a therapy dog on Sat.
Kids read books to him at the library.
Common comment I hear around town when we are out and about,
"You call that a puppy?" :-)
He's a week shy of 11 months old.

My sterilized feathers from last week got cut straight off about
1/2 of the way down the shaft,  and then the feathers were
stripped except for a "brush" at the end.

The feather ends up holding the frosting in just a perfect "drip" to make......

Great Grandma's Gingerbread Christmas Ornaments.
When the frosting dries, a thread and needle will be used to make a hole and hang
it on the Christmas tree.  We aren't even close to the elaborate designs my
Grandma used to make -- but  we (as in the girls of the family) are trying to
learn the craft.  Great Grandma was from Germany.
If anyone knows anything about this craft please let me know!

Anyway....we had a cookie decorating party today.
All us girls had a great time.  No kids were allowed.
A craft was practiced.

We liked our results and we'll keep practicing.

They're too pretty to eat! Well done. It brings cookie making to a truly artistic level.

I forgot to mention....No eating these cookies! I guess you could, but after you spend about 1 hour on the cookie anyone caught sneaking one.....you don't want to know! :-) They are just for decoration.

I love your ornaments!!! I've never seen cookies decorated quite like that! And only 11 months!--that's one large puppy. Happy to be your newest follower. :)

Holey moley! Those cookies are works of art! (I'll bet all you gals - sans kids - had a fun time being together, too.) Remind me NEVER to let you see my "decorated" Christmas cookies!

Butsch is a bee-yew-tiful dog!

I keep putting off starting my apron but I'd better get crackin' on it. Thanks for the reminder.

fullfreezer.....no one snuck one :-) they are full of molassas, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and anise oil...very aromatic. And those silver balls I don't think are good for you. I do remember eating them off my grandmother's tree though when I was a kid :-)

Grumpy Grateful Mom...welcome to my blog!! (I like your name :-)

Mama Pea....We totally enjoyed the afternoon just us girls. Course the wine might have helped a little. Wait till you see my apron! After a couple glasses of wine, we never laughed so hard when my daughter tried it on. Didn't sew a stitch...... :-)Can't wait to show it to everyone.

Thanks for commenting everyone....You know I love every one!!

I don't know why we didn't want to eat any. Maybe there was too much other food. I didn't have any wine, but I was laughing pretty hard at your apron. We need more girls only time. And the cookies look a lot better for some reason than we think they did. It was kind of hard, but I will practice every year if there is food and wine.
